Psychiatric and Mental Health Services:

Inpatient: 20 bed facility
Outpatient: General outpatient program, a continuing care clinic and an eating disorders clinic.
Community Mental Health Day Program: Social-recreation program for individuals with a psychiatric disorder.
Community Mental Health for Older Adults: Provides a community-based psycho geriatric assessment team in Burlington and education programs for Long-Term Care facilities across Halton.

Adult Inpatient Unit: 22 bed facility.
Halton Adolescent Unit: 10 bed child and adolescent assessment/short term treatment unit.
Psychiatric Partial Hospitalization Program: Offers an alternative to inpatient admission and a unit for the Adult Inpatient Unit, thereby shortening average lengths of stays.
Psychiatric Crisis Response Program: Provides day and evening nursing consultation to emergency and other hospital units and initial assessment of person presenting to emergency in crisis.
Outpatient Assessment/Counselling: Provides first assessment for family physicians, rapid follow-up to persons discharged from the inpatient unit, and counseling to adults diagnosed with acute mental illness.
Outpatient Medication Clinic: Provides medication management and monitoring for persons with schizophrenia and other severe psychiatric disorders.
Community Support Team: Full case management program offering or brokering life skills, housing, social/recreational, crisis prevention, and intervention services for persons with schizophrenia, schizo-affective disorders and fragile bipolar disorders.
Day Treatment Skills Program: LAP (Life Adjustment Program)
SAP (Skills Acquisition Program)
Structural group activities to teach skills and strategies for daily living.
MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAMS
CHILDREN'S ASSESSMENT AND TREATMENT CENTRE (CATS)

Provides assessment and treatment for children ages 2-17 who are experiencing serious emotional, social, developmental, learning or behavioral difficulties in their home, school or community. Uses multi-disciplinary approach.

HALTON REGION HEALTH DEPARTMENT SECONDAY SCHOOL MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM

Includes mental health assessment for students identified with actual or potential mental health problems. Short term counseling. Makes referrals to community resources.

PSYCHOGERIATRIC PROGRAM
Provides assesment, treatment and follow-up to elderly individuals with age related mental health problems. Staff provide consultation to long-term care facilities and local general hospitals.

HALTON CO-OPERATIVE MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM
Area Served: Burlington location serves Burlington and Milton; Oakville location serves Oakville and Halton Hills.

Provides an average 16 weeks of clinical intervention for adolescents with significant social and/or emotional problems such as anxiety/panic disorder; affective disorder; major depressive disorder. Provides individual and family assessments and therapy.

Encourages personal phone enquiries directly from phsysicians. Serves adolescents (13-18) with emotional and psychiatric disturbances. Provides long term day treatment and also has a small residential treatment program and individual, family and group therapy.
